3-8th Grade Field Trips
This two-hour, ¾–1 mile excursion invites students to explore how Apricot Lane Farms’ regenerative practices work with nature’s systems. Children discover living soil, native habitat, and cultivated crops, while learning how they come together to grow nutrient-dense, flavorful food in a thriving, biodiverse ecosystem. Students use all their senses during this discovery session—so prepare to get dirty!
Field Trip activities may include:
★ Digging in the avocado orchard to uncover living soil and the creatures within it
★ Visiting Pollywog Pond to experience, smell, pick, and even taste native plants while discovering the homes they provide for wildlife
★ A scavenger hunt in our Market Garden (or other age-appropriate activity)
★ Discover the 40-foot vermicompost bin at the state of the art Fertility Center, where 250,000 Red Wiggler Worms transform food scraps into “black gold” fertilizer (6–8th grade only)

High School Field Trips
This two-hour, 1.5-mile walking tour gives high school students a deeper look at how Apricot Lane Farms’ regenerative practices restore soil, revive ecosystems, and grow nutrient-dense food. Along the way, they’ll examine the roles of plants, animals, and farmer decision-making, and discover how principles like biomimicry, mutualism, and symbiosis shape a thriving, biodiverse farm.
Field Trip stops may cover:
★ Market Garden (a Certified Wildlife Habitat)
★ Fertility Center, home of the 40-foot Vermicompost bin
