Apricot Lane Farms began with a simple idea: that the health of our food starts with the health of our soil. In 2011, John and Molly Chester set out to revitalize depleted farmland in Moorpark, California, transforming it into a thriving ecosystem rooted in regenerative principles.
Guided by Biodynamic mentor Alan York and supported by a dedicated team, the land was brought back to life – its soil restored, biodiversity renewed, and natural beauty revived. Today, Apricot Lane Farms spans 234 acres, growing more than 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables and raising cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks with care and respect.
Today, Apricot Lane Farms stands as a working example of regeneration in action – where food, animals, and people coexist in a living, breathing ecosystem. The journey is chronicled in the award-winning documentary The Biggest Little Farm, and continues every day through our farming practices, farm tours, and the food we grow.
